Champion Power Equipment 4000 Watt

I had looked at portable generators like the Honda and Honeywell 2000 watt models because they were small and light (60 lbs). Unfortunately they were also expensive per kilowatt and did not have adequate power. On the other end of the spectrum are whole house 6-8KW models, but at 200+ lbs they are too heavy for me to move by myself. I opted for the Champion 4000 watt because it weighs 100 lbs and has a reasonable amount of power.

Champion Power Equipment 4000 Watt is a 4-Cycle Gas Powered RV Ready Portable Generator With Wheel Kit (CARB Compliant).

A friend bought it several months ago, and he said:
This is a great generator for its size. We had a storm about a week after we got it. And it took the power out for about seven hours. I started this thing on the second pull, and ran a 10,000 BTU window AC unit and a side by side Frig. and satallite reciver and TV. Never sputterd when the Frig shut on and off with the AC running. A great product for the price.
What's good about Champion Power Equipment 4000 Watt;
  1. Easy to put together
  2. Decent instructions
  3. Quiet (compared to others I have used)
  4. Convenient output plugs (15A, 30A, etc.)
  5. Easy to move
  6. Good support from Champion
  7. One pull start - never a problem starting
